ACCESS ALL AREAS’ IS BACK ON SATURDAY OCT 1ST LIVE FROM THE SOCIAL FOR A BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPECIAL WITH BLACK LIVES IN MUSIC

ACCESS ALL AREAS is an up-close and personal music seminar, industry networking event and new artist showcase that aims to be your “Triple-A Pass To The Music Industry”. This unique music seminar is back and we are finally back live from our new home at The Social, 5 Little Portland St, London W1W! Access All Areas continues on Saturday, October 1st from 1-4pm!

ACCESS ALL AREAS announces a special Black Lives in Music takeover event for Black History Month, including 6 top panellists and 3 hot unsigned artist performances! This 3-hour event will be moderated by guest moderator SherrylsWorld. She will be speaking to key British music business players who will be participating in a conversation on “Racism In The UK Music Industry – Changing The Landscape” .

The panel will be highlighting some of the positive movements in the two years since our first groundbreaking seminar on the topic, including the Power Up program, UK Music’s Diversity Survey and the Black Lives in Music survey. We will also discuss the historical issues surrounding race that fuel today’s current industry, why Black men and men of colour aren’t being hired as executives in the UK music industry and are outnumbered almost 2 to 1 by female counterparts, and what further changes need to be made within the music business as well as intersectionality, pay and conditions, promotion opportunities, artist contracts, Black women in the music industry and mental health. And finally, highlight the reasons why diversity is essential to this country’s music industry as one of the UK’s biggest exports.

Our formidable panel of industry execs we have assembled covers the full spectrum of the UK Music Industry including the Operations Director @ Black Lives in Music, Roger Wilson; Freelance Tour Manager and A&R Exec  @ UMC/Universal Music, Ree Sewell;  Jonathan Chabala  Audience Manager @ Atlantic Records/Warner Music, Former member of Steel Pulse and  Founder of The Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra and currently Senior Lecturer & Director of Black Music Unit @ University of Westminster, Mykaell Riley; Reggae artist formerly known as  Lezlee Lyrix and now highly respected academic and course leader of MA Global Black Studies @ University of West London, Professor William “Lez” Henry and last but not least, legendary music exec Adrian Sykes, the Host of the “Did Ya Know” podcast and Founder of Decisive Management!
